Saturday we spent the day at Willowcreek swimming with the Johnson Family. Melinda's brother and his family were in town and it was alot of fun to see them. Randy and Becky we hope to see you guys sooner than later, we love you guys!!

Later that night we headed up to Rice Eccles Stadium for the Bingham vs. Alta football game. It was fun to be there with Gina and Boyd's family and help support Dev's cousins Jordan and Melody.

I love Friday play dates with my sister and sister-in-laws, we always have so much fun and make some great memories. Two Fridays ago we decided to load the kids up and take them to the Zoo, the last time we had been there was in May so we were due for a trip. Danielle wasn't able to join us, but my mom tagged along with Londyn and Anniston. Mom we loved having you apart of the Friday play group and hope to see you again soon!! Tate had a blast at the zoo this time. He was making all the animal noises and loving to just run around. I do have to say that he didn't like the idea of going up too close to the glass and watching the animals up close and personal, he was just fine hanging back.

To say the least of our fun day riding Trax downtown to play in the fountains. Last Friday Danielle, Mckenzi, and I decided it would be so much fun to take all the kids on Trax to Gateway mall to play in the fountains. Well the trip started off a little rocky with not knowing what tickets to purchase and holding up the train with trying to get our jogger strollers on board. We had a couple mishaps throughout the day like Tate thinking he can look directly in the hole where the water comes shooting out and it shoots right up at him and I swear almost blinds him so after that he didn't want anything to do with the fountains, then thinking our jogger strollers can fit on the escalator but gets stuck and one of the kids is now on the escalator all my herself not knowing what to do, trying to get all the kiddos lunch at the Mcdonald's in the food court while there are a million kids running around screaming and scary homeless people eating too, last but not least getting back on Trax forming an assembly line with the strollers to get them up and on board and I being a little forgetful and leaving one stroller to almost roll away! Despite all our mishaps we had such a fun time and it definitely made for a lot of fun memories!! Thanks Dani and Kenzi for joining me in this fun adventure, but I think next time we will just take our own cars down to the Gateway!!

Tate got his first official haircut last Thursday at Cookie Cutter by Mckenzi. I was so impressed by Cookie Cutter. You do pay a lot for a kids haircut but it, to me, is worth every penny. Tate's stylist did an awesome job. He was a pill at first he didn't want anything to do with the airplane he was sitting in or the movie we put on for him. The minute Mckenzi tried to put the cape around his neck he started to freak out. After about 2 minutes we gave him a sucker and he became the sweet little boy that he always is and we were able to finish the haircut in peace. I don't know how those hairstylists do it with a child crying, moving, and pushing at their hands. But they manage to get the job done and do a great job. Thanks Mckenzi! I don't know what took me so long to cut his combover hairstyle from before cause I absolutely love it now. He is such a stud!!

Ever since Tate was really little, which he still is, he has loved anything to do with balls. He loves basketballs, footballs, soccerballs, baseballs, you name it I am sure he loves it. Almost everyday Tate will sit by our back door and say "shoot" pointing outside to the basketball hoop. I don't take him out very often cause it is so blasted hot outside and I have to be out there with him cause we don't have a fenced backyard, I know I'm a mean mom, but on those rare occasions that I do take him out this is all he wants to do.

This past weekend we were invited by my brother and his wife to join them up at their cabin. So the whole Green Family loaded on up and made a day out of it. We had so much fun riding four wheelers, feeding horses, eating lunch, playing on the swing set, and just being together as a family. Unfortunately Devin, Bret, and Kelley were unable to join us,but we did miss their company so hopefully they will be there for the next one! Thank you Zach and Jenny for inviting all of us. We can't wait to do it again next year!

Yep that's right I am prego. We couldn't be more excited and I can personally say that I am super excited to be pregnant this time around. Right now I am 13 1/2 weeks along and not feeling as sick as I was just a couple weeks ago so hopefully I am in the clear, but I still feel tired all the time! I do have to admit, but as much as I hate feeling sick I do like it at the same time cause then I am reassured that there is a baby still growing in there! Call me paranoid from our miscarriage! Devin and I are anxious to find out the gender of our baby so we are thinking of going to Fetal Image in Southtowne mall next week. Devin is really hoping for a girl and I am on the fence. I would love a girl cause who doesn't want one, but then I really want a boy so Tate can have a buddy to play with and we have all the boy stuff we need. In all seriousness I just want a healthy baby and pregnancy! We will keep you updated.

July in review

We started our July off with the famous Oakley Rodeo. We love going to the rodeo every year it just seems to start the summer off right. Thanks mom for getting our tickets in advance so that we always have great seats!!

July 5 we headed over to Willow Creek Country Club to enjoy all the Holiday festivities at the pool. It has become a tradition with the Johnson's and we always look forward to it. Can't wait for next year!!

Earlier this month my mom arranged a day for me, Tate, all my sister-in-laws their kids, my sister the 2 girls she nanny's, 2 of my cousins, and herself to go to This is the Place park for a day. It was such a fun day. I have never been up there before, that I can remember, and I really enjoyed seeing all the fun shops, buildings, and learning about the Pioneers. Tate's favorite of course was the Chu Chu train rides. Thanks mom for planning such a fun day!

The annual Green Family FHE up in the canyon full of delicious dutch oven dinner, roasting mallows and having smores, and just sitting around the camp fire enjoying our time together. This year Dev, Tate, and I had a little surprise for everyone. We announced that I was 10 weeks pregnant. What a fun and exciting night! Thanks Mckenzi and Bret for putting it all together.

This was Tate's first time this year to Lagoon and Lagoon A Beach. I was a little unsure of Lagoon A Beach, but I am so happy we went cause Tate had a blast floating down the lazy river and sliding on all the kiddie slides. This year at Lagoon was his first time to ride on any of the rides. He still is small so he wasn't able to ride on a lot but the ones he did ride on he had a great time. I think it is safe to say that the Chu Chu train was by far his favorite. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa J for inviting us to Lagoon!

I can't believe I survived it, GIRLS CAMP! About 4 months ago our YW presidency was released so I was released as 1st Counselor, but then called as Camp Director. Who would have thunk. I was blown away when I was offered the calling and thought to myself, why was Kerri inspired to call me as the freakin Camp Director. Our girls camp this year was Stake camp, thank heavens cause it relieved some of the stress from my shoulders, and the theme was Cosmic Camp To Eternity and Beyond. Even though the planning part was hard work and the fact that I am prego and not feeling too hot made me not want to go and just bail, but I have to admit that I had such a fun time and it really was such an amazing experience for me. I learned a lot about myself through the whole process and really what I am capable of. And for that I am so grateful for this calling. Next year we will be doing camp my why and sleeping in Cabins not tents!! So get ready 4th Ward!!

Rice Family Cruise 2010

We just got back from the Big Rice Family Cruise 2010. We were on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas and it was a beautiful ship full of so many fun things to do and lots of delicious things to eat. Our 3 ports were St. Maarten, Puerto Rico ( which I didn't take one picture of), and Labadee Haiti. We had a total of 44 people go and were really sad to leave a lot behind. Dev and I had such a fun time, but we missed little Tater's a bunch. He was in good hands with Grandma and Grandpa J. We recieved emails from him, written by Grandma, every other day and seeing the pictures they sent really helped to comfort us. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa J Derek and Nicole for watching out for Tate and Tobi while we were gone. We really do appreciate it cause it isn't an easy thing to do. And thank you Nana, Joey, and Ren Rice Family for making it all happen. We hope that another cruise or Rice family vaca is in the works some time soon!!

The poor guy was lucky to have packed two swim suits, a golf shirt, kaki pants, and an extra pair of garments in his carryon bag. He was given $50 everyday without his luggage from Delta so he was able to buy some great Quicksilver stuff from one of the stores on the ship and he got unlimited drycleaning and he was able to rent a tux for free for both formal nights. Royal Caribbean treated him great. He was such a trooper! am just happy it was you Bret and not me!

St. Maarten was our first stop. We jumped in a van that took us to Airplane Beach, a market place on the french side, a souvenir shop on the Dutch side, and then dropped us off in the small town next to the ship. It was a fun and eventful day.

Airplane Beach. When they say you can throw a rock up in the air and hit a bottom of a plane they aren't joking. That is seriously how close you are to them. Unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to watch any BIG planes come in but we were able to see a handful of smaller planes and it was still nuts. You don't believe it until you actually see it!

Tate and I had such a blast at Jungle Jim's this morning. Tate was a little hesitant when it came to the rides, but all he needed to do was watch it once then he was good to go. He still is a little small to go on all the rides by himself so I was grateful that Grace and Chloe were there to help him out. If Tate wasn't on a ride then he was running around from one game to the next lifting his shirt up in the process ( this is his new thing now adays)! It was so much fun to get together with Maggie and her kids, finally cause we have been planning to get together forever. Maggie I hope we make these play dates a weekly occurrence! And my good friend Rach is in town for her brother's wedding this weekend so it was good to see her and her kids. I can't believe how big they are getting and how dang cute all of them are. Thanks Maggie for the invite. We hope to do it again soon!

January and February in Review

I am alittle behind on posting/recording what is going on in our lives because of the whole going private thing. But now that I have all that squared away I will be better about posting more often. I still can't believe we are into the month of March now and that Spring really is just around the corner. I have absolutely loved all the warm weather we have been having. Tate loves to be outside. He would be outside all day long if I would let him, but we don't have a fenced backyard so I can't just let him walk out the back door and play in the backyard and know he is safe. When Tate is outside I have to be outside. Don't get me wrong I do love being outside, but not ALL day long. Tate loves to play around with all the neighborhood boys that are like 5,6,7 years older than he is, but he acts like he can keep up so it's all good! I have been able to take out the jogger a couple times. It feels good to run outside again. I am not a big runner, but I do enjoy putting Tate in the jogger and going for a run around our neighborhood. I look forward to that in the up coming months. Let me know if you would like to join me! January and February we didn't have a ton going on, but through our camera we were able to capture a few of the things we have been up to.

A few days before Valentines Day we added a new member to our, Tobi. It was a spur of the moment thing, but I am so happy we did it. He is a special part of our family now. We all really love him!

Happy Valentines Day! Dev and I got a babysitter, thanks Sarah, and enjoyed a wonderful night together! We ate dinner at Willowcreek Country Club, it wasn't anything special and definitely not worth the money, but it was a fun atmosphere. I just wish they would have an alternate menu that had "Real" food on it that actually tastes good rather than all this fancy Schmancy food. Oh well, I guess we learned our lesson! After dinner we went to the movie When in Rome and didn't love it so we decided to hit up another movie, Dear John. I have never done the whole see two movies in one night thing, but it was only 9 pm and we were paying a babysitter so why not take advantage of it, right!? Dear John was a great movie to close our night with. Thanks honey for a wonderful Valentines. I love you!

Tate loves his Daddy. Lately Tate can't seem to get enough of his dad. He cries when Dev walks out the door, he wants Dev to hold him all the time, where ever Dev goes Tate is right behind him, he loves to sit on Dev's lap and watch tv, and he loves to wear Dev's hats. I'm not going to lie at first I was a little jealous, but watching these two play together is priceless and always put a smile on my face. I am so happy they have such a special father son bond.

Isn't Tate looking so much older? I can't believe he is 15 months old. Where has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday he was sitting in my arms so peacefully as a cuddled and held him as a newborn. It has been such a joy to watch him grow and develop and learn new things everyday. He can finally say Momma, yeah! He kinda says dog and will bark like one. He knows what a cow says. If you ask him to point to his nose, ears, eyes, and belly button he will sometimes get them all right. I am fascinated by how smart he is and how well he picks up on things. When I ask him to go get his binki he knows exactly where he left it and will bring it to me. I love Tater so much and can't picture my life without him. He has brought so much joy into our lives. I just wish I could press a FREEZE button and have him this age forever!

Wow, I can't believe that it is almost the end of February and I am just getting to posting something new on our blog since Christmas. One of my New Years Resolutions for this year is to use my blog as a journal to record my thoughts, feelings, family events, and pictures. Well I haven't done too well so far, but I promise myself that I will be better. Last night our Relief Society put on a great Enrichment Night and one that I have been very excited for for a couple weeks now. It was a kick off night to bettering ourselves and being truly happy and healthy this year. We had a couple speakers who did an awesome job and said things that I really needed to hear. One of the speakers, Emily, talked about working out and eating healthy and how we, as mom's, shouldn't feel guilty for taking the time to workout and to plan and prepare healthy meals for ourselves. She mentioned how she has always looked at the Word of Wisdom as all of these "Don'ts" and never really looked at the "Do's". I had never really thought of that. That little statement from Emily changed me and my view on the word of wisdom and how I am really not obeying it to the fullest when I eat nothing but chocolate and candy all day long. Wow what an Ah ha moment for me. Later that night they handed out a folder for us to keep. It had a couple handouts inside with inspiring quotes, a 4 week goal sheet, meal ideas, and healthy recipes from ladies in the ward. On top of the 4 week goal sheet it says "A goal not written is only a wish" by Harold B Lee. At the beginning of every year I have new goals, but I make the mistake of not writing them down and only keep them in my mind. I need to get in the habit of writing my goals down so they can become reality. So here are some of my goals for this year...
1. Workout at least 3 times a week. Going running outside, going to the gym, or P90X videos.
2. Eat healthier. Instead of grabbing for fruit snacks or chocolate grab a handful of almonds.
3. Cook dinner at least 3 times a week. Cook 1 new recipe a week.
4. Read a chapter from The Book of Mormon everyday. So you have read 7 chapters by the end of the week. If you miss a day then make it up the next day.
5. Drink at least 64 oz. of water everyday
6. Don't hold back from the things that you want to do. Put forth the effort and do them.
7. Personal Prayers every morning and night
8. Family prayers every night
9. Tell family and friends that you love and appreciate them, more often.
10. Get food storage and emergency preparedness up to date. Go through 72 hr. kits. Build on food storage and water. Do Kerri's tips of the week.
11. Update blog frequently. Use your blog as a Family Journal and print it out as a book at the end of the year.
12. Write Jenny and Ryan once a month
13. Go to bed before 11 pm
14. Finnish my scrapbook. Start Tate's and Family Scrapbooks.
15. Make life more positive. Look at the positive in all situations.
16. Strive for perfection, but remember that every little thing in your life won't be perfect and that is OK.

That is quite the list, but I feel so much better now that I have written each goal down. I am sure that as the year continues that I will be adding to this list. Well my time is up on the computer for now cause I need to go get showered before Tate wakes up. I will have updates on the Family with pictures soon.

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year spent with family friends and eating lots of delicious food. Christmas Eve this year we were with my family. That night we went over to Nana's house for dinner and our christmas program that is full of talents, the nativity, surprise performances, watching a dvd full of pictures of the family in 2009, and dessert. Then Dev dressed up as Santa clause and delievered some gifts for my cousins. We ended up back at my parents where we would be sleeping and opened our Christmas pj's.

My cousin, Joey, did the twelve days of Christmas for his girlfriend. So Joey had Devin dress up as Santa Clause and deliever her a stocking for Christmas Eve. Then we were off to deliever gifts to members in their ward that are less fortunate than us. It was a very special experience to be apart of and it help us all remember the true meaning of Christmas. P.S. Devin was the best Santa ever!!

Christmas morning at my parents opening gifts from Santa. Then we were off to a breakfast a Dev's aunt and uncle's house. Then back to my parents for brunch and my family gift exchange. Devin left half way through the gift exchange to go and talk to his brother Ryan who is serving a mission in California. Later that night we went over to Devin's parents house for The Johnson Family Christmas Party and we talked to Devin's sister Jenny who is serving in Las Vegas. As I was going through all our Christmas pictures I realized I didn't take any pictures while we were at the Johnson's. I will have to remember to do that next year. I don't know what I was thinking!

Every year we have our Annual Rice Family Christmas Party at the Gallivan Center Downtown. The party is full of good food, ice skating, sitting on Santa's lap, and hitting the Pinata. Tate had a blast playing with all his cousins, walking around the Gallivan Center, and sitting on Santa's lap. I was so surprised to see him walk right up to Santa and sit calmly on his lap. He must have gotten that from his Dad. I love this time of year for many reasons, but being with family is the very best! Thanks Mike and Liz for all your hard work this year!

Last Saturday night Bret McCormick asked my little sister to be his wife and she said, YES!! He asked her at Temple Square in front of the Old Assembly Hall Building. Every year at this time my side of the family gets together for dinner at Cafe Rio and Temple Square Lights. It is so much fun to be with everyone and I know Tate loves to be with all his cousins. WE missed Jenny, Scarlett, Mckenzi, and Bret but hopefully they will be able to join us next year when we do it all over again. The night couldn't have been better, it wasn't too cold, it wasn't super crowded, the lights were amazing, and I love to see the spirit of Christmas touch us all. Last Friday Night we decided to head on over to Fashion Place Mall to do a little Christmas shopping and to have Tate meet Santa Clause for the very first time. Devin and I had a bet going that if Tate cried then Devin would get $10 and if he was a little angel like he always is then I would get the $10. I think I won. Tate put up a little fight at first, but then settled down and enjoyed sitting on Santa's lap. I was so proud of my little man!!

Tate turned 1 on November 27 and I still can't believe he is already that old. He is growing up so fast. We are having so much fun watching him grow and develop and learn new things. Some things about Tate: He took his first 6 steps on Nov. 24, he has mastered the stairs going up and down, he loves getting into every single drawer in the kitchen, he loves to FREEZE when asked, he gives open mouth kisses, he loves the bath tub and has discovered a new toy that is attached to him 24/7, he is definitely a daddy's boy, he claps his hands and cheers when anyone else does, waves at everyone where ever we go, he is so happy all the time, talks to himself all day long and to me like I know exactly what he is saying, and loves to cuddle right before he goes to bed and right when he wakes up. We love our little Tate and couldn't imagine life without him. Happy Birthday Tater!!

This coming May and June there will be two new additions to my side of the family. My brother Josh and his wife Danielle announced that they are pregnant and My brother Jeramy and his wife Kelley announced that they are pregnant. We are so excited for them, but sad that they will not be able to go on The Rice Family Cruise in May. (Josh and Danielle's little girl wore this adorable shirt to announce their new addition.)

We love going to the Jazz games and are very fortunate to go as much as we do, Thanks to Devin's parents. This last week we were able to invite my parents and my brother and his son. It was so much fun to have them all there. Thanks Joe and Melinda for all the tickets.

Our Anniversary Trip

Last week Devin and I left Tate with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson and took off to Viva Las Vegas to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. It was so much fun to layout by the pool, read a book, sleep in, workout on my own time, enjoy a dinner with just the two of us, go to a movie, shop at all my favorite stores that aren't in SLC, and just spend some quality time with the most amazing man in the world. I only took 3 pictures of our whole weekend together, but I am glad I was able to capture our night at Serendipity 3. I have always wanted to go to Serendipity in New York, but since I haven't been able to get there yet I went in Vegas. Thanks love for planning such a fun Anniversary Trip.

$15 Hot fudge Sundae's at Serendipity 3. I know that is way expensive for some ice cream, chocolate fudge, caramel sause, bananas, and nuts. But it was all worth it!!

For the past couple months my brothers, cousins, and husband have been playing softball every Thursday night together at the Cottonwood complex in Holladay. Their last game was this past Thursday and they went out with a bang. It has been so much fun getting together with everyone on thursday nights to watch these WOWZER CATS show us their softball skills. I hope to see the Wowzer cats reunite next year!!

Last Saturday we had our Annual Rice family get together up at the McQueen's cabin just past Oakely. Craig and Ann are so nice to open their cabin to our WHOLE family once a year. We all look so forward to getting together for lots of chatting, a delicious dinner, and motorcycle riding. It was so weird for me to think that just last year at this time Tate was still cooking in my belly and now a year later he was crawling all over the place with all his buddies, time sure does fly by. It's sad that it has already come and gone, but I look forward to next year for sure!!

Better Late Then Never!

Like I said in the Title of this post, Better late then never! We were able to go to Lake Powell with Dev's Family at the end of July and we had a BLAST! It was definitely different with a little one to take care of and we ran into a couple bumps, but over all it was fun. Tate did great on the ride there and back he was quite the trooper. The first two days we were there Tate was in some pain from teething, but we took care of that with a little children's tylenol. Tate had a bad case of diarreha and had his worst blowouts to date. It's a good thing we were right on a big bathtub, right!! He didn't want anything to do with his baby food only bottles and I think he was afraid of missing out on all the action cause his nap schedule was shot. Despite these little bumps we had a great time and were able to experience many "Firsts" with Tate. For Devin and I it was fun to be back on the water again. Devin hasn't been to Lake Powell for like 5 years and last year all I was able to do was ride in the boat cause I was prego with Tate. We were alittle rusty when it came to Tubing, wakeboarding, and surfing. But had a great time and can't wait for next year. Thanks Joe and Melinda for a wonderful trip!

July in review

We have been very busy this month and can't believe it is almost over. I can't believe Tate is now 8 months old time sure has flown by. Our 4th of July was super fun. We went to the Oakley Rodeo (thanks to Craig McQueen) on July 3. Then we spent the day at Willow Creek on the 4th and later went to a BBQ at my aunt and uncle's then on to watch an excellent firework show at my parent's. I'm sad the 4th is all over. Can't wait for next year!! On the 7th my cute friend Becca married Brady Barker. The day was absolutely beautiful and we are so happy for them and can't wait to hang out more often, maybe play a round of golf!! While my brother Zach's Family was enjoying the sun and beach in Cali, Tate and I enjoyed having Scarlett over to play. I got my taste of what it would be like to have twins cause Tate and Scarlett are only a month a part and I have to say that I really did enjoy it. I loved watching them play, interact, and copy each other all day long. I think Tate was sad to see her go. Then it was off to Wyoming for YM and YW camp. WE had such a blast on the Snake River and I loved getting to know all the girls on a more personal level. We are so lucky to have such a great ward and amazing youth.Our last hoorah of July was in Sun Valley, Idaho with my family. My family has been going for years, but I was so excited for this trip cause it was Tate and Devin's first time up there. I am pretty sure they loved it and can't wait for next year. Thanks mom and dad for planning such a great Family Vaca, we loved it. So there you have it, our Month of July in review.

TATE IS NOW 8 MONTHS OLD

Tate I can't believe you are 8 months old, the time has surely flown by. Tate you are such a happy baby all the time even when you are so tired or hungry. You are now eating baby food 2 to 3 times a day. You can feed yourself cheerios. At resturants you are now sitting in high chairs. I can't believe how big you are getting, people not only stop me at the store to tell me how adorable you are but to also ask if I am feeding you steriods. You weigh 22 lbs. and since you are growing so big we have had to get you a knew carseat. Tate I can't believe how much you love the water. You love to go to the swimming pool and hang out in your floating device and you love to play in the bath tub. I hope you like swimming lessons when I decide to put you in them! You aren't crawling just yet, but I know you are dieing too. When I put things out infront of you you try so hard to get to them and get frustrated by burrying you head in the ground when you can't get it. You are a champ at sitting up and rolling all over the place. You have your first two teeth now. You were such a big boy when you were getting them in. Tate you are such a joy in our lives and I don't know what we would do without you. We love you so much and have loved watching you grow and develop and look forward to what the future holds. We love you, bubba!

NEW CALLINGS
In the past two weeks Devin and I have both recieved callings in our new ward and we couldn't be more excited. We love that we just moved in and they are ready for us to help carry out the lord's work. Devin has been called as the Scout Chairmen and I have been called as the 1st counselor in the Young Women's. We understand we both are going to be super busy, but we are ready for the challenge and all the fun we are going to have. Young womens and Scouts here we come!!

SAYING GOODBYE

Yesterday we took Devin's sister, Jenny, to the MTC. Over the past three months or so Jenny has decided to serve a mission. She has been called to serve in the Illinois, Nauvoo mission. We were all able to breath a sigh of relief when she read where she was going and we couldn't be more excited for her. She was supposed to leave July 22, but got a call from her stake president saying that her mission president had called him and wanted her to leave ASAP. Since she had nothing ready and hadn't been through the temple yet the soonest she could leave was just yesterday. I don't know how she got everything ready in such little time, but she did and we ended up saying goodbye to Sister Johnson sooner then we thought. We will miss her greatly, but know that the Lord needs her right now in Illinois, Nauvoo and look forward to all her emails and pictures!

Yesterday I threw a Bridal shower for my really good friend, Becca. I was so excited to host the shower for several different reasons, First I felt all grown up having it at my own house and all! I know that sounds stupid, but it's the truth. It was nice to finally be able to throw a party at MY own house. Second, it is always so nice to see friends from High School that I don't get to see that often. Thanks girls for coming and supporting becca. Third, I am so so so excited for Becca and Brady and this new journey they are about to embark upon. Becca and I have known each other forever and go way back so to see her this happy and excited makes me so happy. Becca, I love you girl and look forward to hanging out, golfing, and raising our kids together!!

I know it has taken me awhile to update, but our lives have been busy to say the least the past couple months. We moved into a house about 2 months ago and we are loving it. We love our house, our neighbors, our ward, and being closer to both mine and devin's family. I can't believe Tate is 6 months old. At his 6 month check up he weighed in at 18 lbs. he is in the 70% for height and 90% for head size. What can I say my son is going to be super smart with that large brain of his!! I love this age cause he laughs, smiles, talks, sits up by himself, knows now what his toys are and is figuring out how to use them, loves bouncing in his jumperoo, blows bubbles, eats baby food, plays with his feet, rolls from his back to tummy and almost from his tummy to back, and I think he is starting to catch on to doing "patty cake" with me. I can't get enough of him. Even though I love this age I am looking forward to what more is to come. It is so much fun watching him grow and develop. At the end of May we dropped Devin's little brother Ryan off at the MTC and it was so good to see how excited he is to serve the lord for the next 2 years of his life. Ryan is going to be an awesome missionary and we can't wait to get his emails to hear all about it. WE are so happy that summer is finally here cause that means pool days everyday! WE have been to the pool alot lately and Tate absolutely loves the water. He loves to splash and kick his feet. I got him this floaty he can sit in and he loves it, but he has discovered how to sip on the water and I'm not so happy about that! All in all we are doing awesome and loving life. I promise to update more often and hopefully never go this long again to post. Enjoy all my pics!!

I was so excited to go to a Jazz game again cause the last time I went to a Jazz game was the night before Tate was born and I felt like crap. Jamie and Colin Kent went with us and they kept telling me that I was going into labor. I thought there was no way, but it was odd that I was feeling like stomach flu sick cause I hadn't felt that way at all through my whole pregnancy. Sure enough I started having contractions that night and went to the hospital the next day and had Tate that night. It was so fun taking Tate to his first Jazz Game. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for taking all of us to the Jazz game. We hope to go again soon!!

After taking my time to get ready the other day this is how I found Devin and Tate. So sweet, right! Devin is such a good daddy and loves spending time with his baby boy!! I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful husband that is an amazing dad. Thanks babe for all you do!

2 Months Old

Today, January 27 2009, Tate is 2 months old. I can't believe how fast the past two months have flown by. I truely am having the best time of my life spending all day with our sweet little boy. I had no idea how much fun motherhood would be and how quickly those motherly instincts really do kick in, thank heavens! I have loved watching him grow and change every day. Things that Tate is doing... sleeping at least 5 hours every night, making eye contact, getting cute rolls on his legs, nibbling on his hands every once in awhile when he can't find his binki, likes the camera but not so fond of the video camera, smiles all the time, talks baby talk with me all day long, and loves to watch the tv. We feel so blessed to have this beautiful and healthy boy in our lives and look forward to the growth and progress that he will make.
Tate and I had so much fun today doing our own mini photo shoot. I wish I had a better camera to take more "professional" pictures. Hopefully some day I'll get one!

Halloween was full of Parties Parties and more Parties. We had a blast this year showing off our Halloween costume. Devin and I aren't really big on dressing up, but we thought that since I am pregnant this year then we better go big or go home and I have to say that I was pretty impressed by our costume. WE won best couples costume at Derek and Nicole's party. Thanks to everyone who voted for us! And thanks to Joe, Melinda,Scott,Leslie,Derek and Nicole for putting on all the fun parties this year. Fun Halloween games!

Devin's cousin Josh picked the back off the money tree with the $100 in it, Lucky Duck! The rest of us picked either a $1 or $10. By the way josh you owe me $25 for helping you out with what bag to pick!!

The same night as my Baby Shower my brother's wife went into labor with their third child. I was fortunate to watch the birth of my new niece and what a joy it was. The miracle of life is absolutely amazing and watching it happen is undescribeable. Scarlett Eliza Green came 2 weeks early she's healthy and weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches. She is so precious and it has made me anxious and excited for our little boy to come. Congrats Zach and Jenny!!

Thanks Becca and Lacey for putting together a super fun Baby Shower for me with all our friends. The food was delicious and the games were fun. Thanks to everyone that came. It was so much fun to see all of those who I haven't seen in awhile. We missed those of you who were unable to come. Thanks again everyone for a great night!!

I know it's past the 24th, but I just had to say "Happy Anniversary" to my amazing husband of one year. I know it sounds crazy that I've only been married one year and I'm 8 months pregnant, but Devin and I didn't want to waste any time! This past year has been a wirl wind of emotions and events and in some ways Devin and I are happy to see it go, but sad at the same time. We stated in Utah when we got married and three states and 8 months later we finally got back. One of Devin's cars was stolen and wrecked in Detroit and then he traded in his truck for a "family" SUV. It was getting difficult caring for our puppies from out of state so we eventually had to give our dogs Tank and Nala away, I had to leave Star 21 but now I am doing esthetics out of our house, and last but not least we found out we are PREGNANT. So Devin and I have had quit the year, but I wouldn't have wanted to experience it with anyone else then Devin. I have learned so much about myself over the year and couldn't have done it with out him. He is my strength, my love, my best friend, my light, my joy, my happiness, my life, my everything. I feel so lucky and blessed to have him in my life and to be sharing a life with him. I am so excited to start a family with him and look forward to all the years to come. Thanks babe for always being there for me and helping to shape the person I am today. I love you always and forever!!

I am so so sorry I haven't updated in quit some time, but I feel like I haven't had anytime to do it. I'm sure many of you are saying, wow she doesn't think she has time now to update just wait until that little baby comes he will take up all her time. I admire all of you who have kids and are very good about keeping your blog updated. Hopefully I'll get better!! Devin and I have been busy moving in to our new townhome and are starting to feel settled. I can not tell you how nice it is to feel settled in one place! It is so nice to have all of my stuff out of boxes and in cupboards. When we moved for the summer we had to pack up so much of our wedding gifts and decorations now I am able to have it all out and be able to use it. I have loved being able to decorate. I'm not that great at it but I sure love to do it. I love how decorations make your house feel more homy! While we were gone for the summer I had no decorations just a couple pictures here and there, it made each of our apartments feel so empty. Sorry I don't have any pictures of our new place, but I will take some soon!! I've also been busy getting our nursery ready. WE finally set up the crib, moved in the dresser, and moved in the rocking chair. I'm still in the process of decorating it so that is my reason for not having pictures just yet, they'll be coming soon aswell. I have been alittle stressed out and overwhelmed by this whole nursery and decorating it. I have changed the bedding 3 times now and you know that when you change the bedding that changes all your decorating ideas. I don't know why I have made it so stressful, But I am happy to report that I have finally decided on bedding so now I can move on to the decorating. I'll be really happy when I'm all done with this nursery!! I have pictures below of the fun things we have been doing with friends and family lately. At the beginning of October my family got together for our Halloween FHE. Devin and I were in charge of it so we had pizza, decorated sugar cookies, and carved pumpkins. It is always so fun to get together with family, especially around the holidays and have fun holiday activities. I just have to brag about how cute all my nieces and nephew are. I love the picture of them standing proud by their carved pumpkins. They were all such good helpers!! Our friends Colin and Jamie Kent had a birthday party for their adorable daughter Presley, she turned one. She looked so dang cute at her birthday party and her mom, Jamie, did such a good job with decorating the whole room pink. Thanks for inviting us guys and we can't wait for our little guy to be apart of all the action. The best part of the whole party was watching Presley dig into her cake. I guess I shouldn't really say "dig" cause she didn't do that she very carefully would stick her index finger into the icing and lick it off her finger. She is such a girly girly not wanting to get messy!! WE had so much fun, thanks for inviting us!! One last thing that Devin and I have really enjoyed doing is going to the Utah Football games. My cousin RJ Rice plays for the Utes. He is a senior this year so it's been alot of fun to go to the games over the years and have a family member out on the field to cheer on. WE love you Rj and are so proud of you!! WE are so excited for the TCU game that's coming up in a couple weeks and can't wait for the BYU vs Utah game. WE are hoping that I don't go into labor at that game with it only being like 9 days before my due date! WE'll just have to wait and see what happens. GO UTES!! Sorry this is so long but like the title of this post says, I have alot of catching up to do. Enjoy!!

I know I know it's been awhile since I have posted anything, but I do have a really good excuse why! Devin and I have finally moved back home to good old Utah and we couldn't be more excited. This whole moving process has been quite the process to say the least. I didn't realize how much stuff Devin and I have so all I have been doing since we moved in is sorting through boxes figuring out what to keep and what to get rid of. I am seeing an end in sight so that puts a smile on my face! We have moved into a townhome in Lehi and are absolutely loving it. We are slowly but surely getting to know our neighbors and so far loving the neighborhood. Our ward is wonderful and look forward to getting more involved. I will soon post pics of our new home once it is clean and worthy of taking pictures!
Besides being busy with moving in we have really enjoyed spending time with family and being able to attend different family functions that we surely missed while being away. When we first got home we enjoyed spending time with the Rice Family up at my sister-in-laws cabin. It was super fun to see everyone and catch up. And I just wanted to say congrats to my cousin Mike and his new fiance Elizabeth. We are so excited for them and look forward to their wedding in January. A week later we spent time with Devin's family up in Park City. We had fun at the Alpine Slide, lunch at the Yummy Main Street Pizza and Pasta Company, and at the Olympic park. I couldn't really do much because of obvious reasons but I had fun anyways spending time with the Johnson Family. We have also enjoyed family dinners on Sundays. Nothing bets a super good home cooked meal! Last but not least we had so much fun at the Utah Football game on Saturday night. I love love love going to football games and I'm so happy to be back just in time for football season. Hopefully it's a good season! Go Utes!! I had such a fun time when I came home to visit this time. It was full of so many fun activities like Sun Valley, Lake Powell, buying a baby crib, FHE at Silver Lake, and a doctor's appointment. Thanks to my mom and dad for taking care of me and to my little sis for sharing her bed and bedroom with me, I know it wasn't easy. I love you all! But as much fun as I have had coming home every month to visit I will be even more happy to come home to Utah for good with my Devin and get back to normal life!!
I had the great opportunity to go to Sun Valley, Idaho with my family. We haven't been there for like 6 years, but we have decided to make it a family trip every summer now. There was so much to do and we all had such a blast riding bikes, swimming, makeing ice cream stops, and having tennis tournaments on the wii. Thanks mom and dad for such a fun vacation. We all look forward to it next year and Devin is excited to join us next year aswell.

In Sun Valley there are all these fun bike/walk trails everywhere. I asked Devin if he would get me a new bike for my birthday this next year so I will have one to ride in Sun Valley next year, we'll see what happens!!

During my visit I went with Devin's wonderful family to Lake Powell. I had an absolute blast even though I couldn't really do anything because of the baby. I just got home from SLC so I'm alittle late on posting this, but I had to do it any way. Today July 9th is Devin's 26th Birthday and I just wanted to let him know how much I love him. In the 9 months we have been married I have learned so much about devin and my love and appreciation for him continues to grow each day. I am so proud of all that he has accomplished and for the man he is striving to become. I had the great opportunity of going to SLC this past weekend for a doctor's appointment and was able to participate in some family fun. I know you all are probably wondering why Devin wasn't in any of the pictures, but he couldn't come because of work. Devin and I couldn't be more excited to start our new little family with a boy. We feel so blessed to have the opportunity to become parents and grow to love, adore, and teach this little guy. We both have thought from the very beginning that it would be a boy, but in all the books I've read they say that most all the time it ends up being the opposite of what you think. Well we proved them wrong! On my side of the family there are a total of 6 grandkids and 2 on the way. There are 5 little girls with one on the way and 1 boy our lonely ranger. We are excited to give my nephew a little buddy to play with! This morning devin and I went to Ultrasona, similar to Fetal Foto, to have the ultrasound done to determine the gender. We were able to get alot of fun pictures of him and he was moving around alot so it made it easy to see him at all different angles. Below I have posted some of my favorite pictures. It's amazing what our technology now a days is capable of doing. Hope you all enjoy the pictures as much as we do.

My Obsession

Yes it's true my new obsession is Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. It's a horrible obsession because they contain so so many calories and fat grams, but I honestly can't get them off my mind. It all started in Hawaii when my nana started talking about them and how they really are the best doughnuts and worth every calorie. When I got home from Hawaii I had kinda forgotten about them but then we were over at our friends Jon and Julie's apartment and I spotted a Krispy Kreme box. That next morning I got on the internet to search for the nearest Krispy Kreme location. I found one in Alexandria which is about 30 to 45 minutes away from us. I was bumbed out cause I knew Devin didn't have time to pickup a box before or after work and he was the one with the car the whole week. What was I to do?! Well, Devin being the wonderful husband he is let me take the car for the day so I called Julie and Ashley and asked if they wanted to join me in an adventure to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! I have never enjoyed a Krispy Kreme Doughnut as much as I did that day words really can't explain. So there you have it my OBSESSION!!

P.S. I'm happy that the nearest location to us is 30 minutes away cause if it were any closer I think I would come home to Utah a big fat pregnant pig. Hopefully I get over this obsession sooner than later!!

After 3 1/2 weeks in paradise I am finally home. It's nice to be home to see my wonderful husband and get back in the groove of things, but I can't lie, I miss Hawaii already. I also miss the company of my mom, nana, dad, and mckenzi. It was so much fun to spend that much time with all of them and it really was a once in a life time opportunity. Thank you mom, dad, and nana for letting me tag along and taking care of me. I love you all.

For the past week and a half I have been enjoying the great island of Oahu and I will be here for 2 more weeks. I know I know it's a long time, but I had to jump at the opportunity. This is how the opportunity came about... my little sis has been in Hawaii for the past 5 months doing an intership for Del Sol and my parents planned to visit her at the end of the internship and stay with her an extra week so she could enjoy some vacation time aswell before heading back to good old Utah. Well I decided to jump on the band wagon and join them for 3 weeks. I thought, well what the heck, I might as well cause once I have this baby I won't have this kind of freedom for a long long time. Unfortunately Devin is unable to join us cause he is hard at work back in Virginia to support this wonderful vacation that I am enjoying. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband that always does his best to make me happy.I am missing him so so much. So I am in love with the show BACHELOR, and I don't know why!! It is just one of those reality shows that gets you hooked after the first episode. I know none of the couples have had the fairy tale ending like we all would have hoped, except Trista and Ryan, but I am still addicted to watching it every monday night! So I am interested in what you all think about Shayne and Chelsie. Who do you think has stolen Matt's heart? Devin thinks he only kept Shayne around to make the final decision, Chelsie, easier on himself. I'm bugged that he sent Amanda packing last week cause I really thought she was the one. I thought her and Matt were so dang cute together and I thought she was the most normal out of the three. Shayne bugs cause I think she is acting and she's fake. Chelsie bugs cause she thinks holding hands is a dumb thing to do. Come on who doesn't like to hold hands or be affectionate with the one you love!? So what do you think? Who's your favorite? Surprise

Yes, Devin and I are having a baby! I know it's crazy, but we are so excited and can't wait for this new adventure in our lives. On our way to Virginia we thought we would take a detour through Salt Lake and surprise our families with the BIG news. WE were lucky enough to get both of our families together under the same roof and make them believe we were getting together to celebrate my upcoming birthday and our short one day visit home. Man did we have them fooled! I came walking into the kitchen with my homemade "Baby on Board" shirt and handed my mom a piece of paper while posing so she could for sure read the shirt. WEll wouldn't ya know that she didn't read the shirt and walked away from me. I couldn't believe it so I turned toward Devin, who was filming, and his mom read the shirt out loud and then screamed.Everyone was shocked and surprised, they had no idea. Devin and I weren't really trying to get pregnant, but at the same time we weren't doing anything to prevent it. My mom told me I was going to be just like her "Fertal Mertal"! I thought different and really didn't think it would happen so soon, but it did and Devin and I are thrilled.
